  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup blackberry puree
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients together.
  3. Add the buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  4. Fold in the blackberry puree.
  5. Stir in the boiling water until well combined.
  6. Pour the batter into prepared cake pans.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool before frosting.
