Creamy Crab and Shrimp Seafood Bisque

  • 1 pound crab meat
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cups seafood stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a pot over medium heat, then add onions and garlic. Sauté until translucent.
  2. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir, cooking for 2 minutes.
  3. Slowly add the white wine, stirring continuously.
  4. Add seafood stock, bring to a simmer, and let cook for 10 minutes.
  5. Add crab meat and shrimp, followed by Old Bay seasoning. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Stir in heavy cream, season with salt and pepper, and cook until heated through.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • This bisque can be made a day ahead and reheated before serving.
  • Adjust the seafood stock with more or less according to your desired consistency.
