Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast; let it sit until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour, then knead until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Once risen, punch down the dough and incorporate minced garlic and herbs.
  6. Divide the dough into three equal parts and roll into strands.
  7. Braid the strands together and place on a baking sheet.
  8. Let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
  9. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
