Homemade Lasagna

This homemade lasagna recipe combines turkey bacon and chicken ham for a delicious twist on a classic comfort food.

  • 12 sheets lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 8 ounces turkey bacon
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook chopped onion and minced garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add ground turkey and diced turkey bacon, cooking until browned.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper; simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce, followed by a layer of lasagna noodles, then ricotta and mozzarella cheese.
  6. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until golden.
  8. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, substitute ground turkey with a mix of vegetables.
  • Let leftovers cool completely before storing them in an airtight container.
