  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
  7. Mix until just combined, being careful not to over mix.
  8. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

  • For a richer flavor, consider adding an extra teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  • You can frost the cake with your favorite frosting once it’s completely cooled.
  • This cake can also be made as cupcakes, reducing baking time to about 20 minutes.
