  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, mix the flour, oats, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  6. Spread the mixture into a greased baking pan.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool before icing.
  9. For the icing, mix powdered sugar, milk, and almond extract until smooth, then spread over cooled bars.
