  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pound ground beef (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and half of the Parmesan cheese.
  4. If using, brown the ground beef in a skillet until cooked through; drain excess fat.
  5. In a baking dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce at the bottom.
  6. Layer noodles over the sauce, followed by the ricotta mixture, mozzarella cheese, and cooked ground beef (if using).
  7. Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles, marinara sauce, and remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses on top.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, omit the ground beef.
  • Let the lasagna sit for a while before cutting to help it hold its shape.
