Raspberry Angel Food Cake

A light and fluffy dessert that combines the sweetness of raspberries with the airy texture of angel food cake.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 12 egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour and half of the sugar together.
  3. In another bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy, then add salt, vanilla extract, and cream of tartar.
  4. Gradually add the remaining sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold the flour mixture into the egg whites.
  6. Add the raspberries and gently incorporate.
  7. Pour the batter into an ungreased tube pan.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and invert pan to cool.
